‘Game of Thrones’ fans on both sides of the Atlantic tried to come to terms Tuesday with the big news that Jon Snow has found a true, lasting love that doesn’t mean getting shot up by arrows or committing (spoiler alert!) aunt-nephew incest.
Of course, the big news has to do Kit Harington. Numerous reports say that the actor has become engaged to Rose Leslie, the red-headed actress who played his wildling lover Ygritte.

Some fans are rejoicing at the news and expecting that Harington and Leslie’s love story will turn out better than Jon and Ygritte’s. “Game of Thrones” fans will remember how Jon and Ygritte fell in love but then found themselves on opposite sides of a conflict north of the Wall. She shot him with arrows, then tried to finish him off later, only to be ambushed by someone else and die in Jon’s arms.

But other fans — mostly female — are heartbroken that Harington, with his raven tresses, is officially off the market.

Harington and Leslie, both 30, first stirred up relationship rumors in 2012, as their fictional ‘Game of Thrones’ counterparts were getting to know each other.
Harington said their weeks shooting Season 2 in Iceland were his favorite of the series, according to Entertainment Weekly.
“Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love,” he said in a cover story for L’Uomo Vogue. “If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.”
Though they reportedly split after a year, they later reconciled and continued to fuel romance speculation until they officially confirmed the relationship in April 2016, making their red carpet debut as a couple at the Olivier Awards in London.
The news of their engagement was confirmed when the couple took out a wedding announcement in the Times in England, People reported. The announcement read, “MR. K.C. HARINGTON AND MISS R.E. LESLIE. The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughters of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire.”
