Kathy Griffin’s neighbor drama has escalated to the point where she’s taken out a restraining order against Jeffrey Mezger, the man who screamed obscenities at her and boyfriend Randy Bick over a noise complaint. According to TMZ, Kathy is no longer willing to loan Mezger a cup of sugar or feed his cat for the weekend. Those halcyon days are over.
As previously reported, the tenor of Mezger’s rant against Kathy went beyond simple ire and took a sharp left at politics and low blows. During the rant we heard (apparently there are more out there), Mezger gave a shout to Donald Trump and referenced Kathy’s shaved head by calling her a “fucking bald dyke”. Once you call a woman whose sister had just died of cancer a “fucking bald dyke,” your lemon tree privileges are permanently revoked.
According to TMZ, this most recent incident isn’t the first run-in Kathy’s had with Mezger who probably leaves his garbage cans on the curb days after pick-up. Other instances of harassment were noted in the requested restraining order.
In the docs, Kathy admits she’s had several issues with Mezger over the last year — including him allegedly throwing garbage in her yard, and blaring Johnny Cash tunes in the direction of Kathy’s home.
Mezger must think all of Kathy’s ilk hate country music but he’s so wrong. Johnny Cash isn’t going to get the job done if you’re trolling libs. You got to go with a Kid Rock or a Toby Keith if you want to trigger a flight response.
Kathy is apparently worried that Mezger will turn up the crazy neighborness and get violent after finding out she filed for protection against him.
Mezger has already been censured by his company KB Home who, at the time of the original incident, issued an apology on the company’s behalf. According to the Los Angeles Times, they’ve even gone so far as to dock his annual bonus by 25% and called his behavior “unacceptable”.
It’s one thing to pick on the leader of the free world, it’s another to harass a woman in her own home. No more dropping by for Chardonnay and a kiki, Mezger!
