NFL Football (5:25 p.m., CBS, NFL Network and Amazon Prime): Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles travel to Charlotte face Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers in a battle of first place teams. Jim Nantz and Tony Romo, along with Tracy Wolfson and Jay Feely call the action.

“Supernatural” (8 p.m., The CW): Season 13 of the addictive creep show begins right where it left off, with Sam and Dean picking up the pieces after the loss of their mother, the demise of Crowley and the heartbreaking death of Castiel.

“Grey’s Anatomy” (8 p.m., ABC): Amelia confronts a difficult situation, while Meredith deals with the fallout from her conversation with Nathan. Maggie finds herself at an awkward family dinner, Jackson receives big news, and Richard and Bailey search for the stars of tomorrow.

“Arrow” (9 p.m., The CW): When we last saw Oliver and the gang, Adrian Chase killed himself, which triggered explosives on Lian Yu island, which went “ka-boom.” As the new season gets under way, Oliver deals with the fallout.

“The Orville” (9 p.m., Fox): After the Orville crew defeats a Krill attack on a brand-new colony, the Union sends Ed and Gordon on a dangerous undercover mission to infiltrate a Krill ship and obtain a copy of the Krill bible, the “Anhkana,” to better understand the enemy.

“Great News” (9:30 p.m., NBC): In a timely episode titled “Honeypot!,” Diana (guest star Tina Fey) has been promoted again, this time to the head of the corporation that owns MMN. But before she leaves she finds herself embroiled in a sexual harassment scandal. This leaves Katie unsure who to believe — her mentor or her friends in the office. Carol becomes head intern and struggles to prove to the other interns, and herself, that she deserves the job.

“Home Alone” (10 p.m., Investigation Discovery): When night falls and you’re the only one at home, the coziest of houses can transform into a sinister, unfamiliar labyrinth. A noise in the yard or an unfamiliar shadow down the hall can send shivers down the spine, especially when you discover there is someone else in the house. This new six-part series highlights stories scary home-invasion stories tied to stalkers and other threats.
