4 students, 1 adult injured in possible pellet gun shooting near Sun Valley High School – Daily News

SUN VALLEY >> Five people – four of them students – were injured by shots from what’s thought to be a pellet gun Friday afternoon at or near a high school in Sun Valley, authorities said.

The shooting was reported just before 3:30 p.m. in the 9100 block of Telfair Avenue, where Sun Valley High School is located, according to the Los Angeles police and fire departments.

Four students — all boys — and a 34-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries from some kind of non-lethal weapon and were taken to a hospital, Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

A Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said it appeared the victims were shot with a pellet gun, but referred additional questions to school police, who were investigating.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was taken into a custody or if a weapon was recovered.
