Do not mess with Nicki Minaj! Shortly after Taylor Swift broke the internet with her new single, “Look What You Made Me Do” — and seemingly dissed the rapper in her lyrics — Nicki shared a very cryptic message with her Twitter followers. Is this her way of firing back?
Nicki tweeted a message from Kendrick Lamar’s hit “Humble,” which read, “N–ga sit down, be humble.” While the blonde beauty doesn’t call out anyone in particular on the track — which is featured on her new album, Reputation — it’s clear Taylor is coming for anyone who has ever wronged her, and the “Anaconda” songstress IS one of those people!
You may recall back in 2015 when nominations were released for the MTV Video Music Awards, and while Taylor was blessed with several nominations, Nicki was noticeably shunned. She was quick to call out the network for their decision — and tweeted at the time, “If I was a different ‘kind’ of artist, ‘Anaconda’ would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well. If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.”

The “Bad Blood” crooner fired back with, “@NICKIMINAJ I’ve done nothing but love and support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.” This, unsurprisingly, did NOT make Nicki feel better — and she replied, “Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn’t say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this. @taylorswift13.” Taylor then tried to salvage the situation by inviting the “Super Bass” singer onstage should she win big.
Some lyrics from T’s cryptic new jam include, “But I got smarter, I got harder in the nick of time. Honey, I rose up from the dead, I do it all the time. I’ve got a list of names and yours is in red, underlined. I check it once, then I check it twice, oh!” Or this part, which goes, “The world goes on, another day, another drama, drama. But not for me, not for me, all I think about is karma. And then the world moves on, but one thing’s for sure. Baby, I got mine, but you’ll all get yours.”
It’s also being widely speculated that she is talking about Kanye West and possibly his wife, Kim Kardashian. Perhaps you remember the whole “Famous” fiasco when Kanye swore Taylor gave him permission to sing about her on his track, which she denied — and then thanks to the KUWTK star leaking their recorded phone call on Snapchat, we basically found out she was lying. Regardless, NO ONE IS SAFE on this new album.
